The ICF Québec annual conference postpone to May 2021par Comité du Congrès

The committee has kept on working while keeping a close eye on COVID-19 developments. As it turns out, our theme is highly topical: 25 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL COACHING: THE POWER OF PARADOX

  • Alone, yet together
  • Helping each other out, despite the isolation

We’re not psychic. We cannot predict the future, but the committee knows one thing for sure: once the COVID-19 turbulence is over, we want to see you again! Networking is the greatest strength of the conference.

So, good news! We are holding on to the conference, its theme, and everything that makes it so unique. However, we are postponing it to May 13-14, 2021, to make sure we can all meet face to face. That way, we can kick off spring with a wealth of inspiration, new discoveries, and great new acquaintances.

Here’s what that means:

Your workshop proposals are still welcome and you now have until September 9th to submit them.

If you would like to present a workshop to share with Conference attendees, click here and fill out the form. We are keeping the proposals we’ve already received and will assess them come September.

We are also keeping how we will select the workshops. The selection will be a two-stage process. In the first stage, the organizing committee will select the most relevant and inspiring workshops based on the criteria listed in the call for proposals. The presenters of the preselected workshops will then be invited to meet with a few committee members to present a broad outline. Selected presenters will be confirmed in early October.

An early registration period is set for the fall, and we will let you know when the time comes.

As for the annual general assembly, further details will be provided in coming weeks. Meanwhile, we ask that you keep the afternoon of October 22nd booked, as we are working on a new format, depending on how the COVID-19 situation develops.

Take care of yourselves, and of each other.

Once again, our theme for the May 2021 conference

25 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL COACHING: THE POWER OF PARADOX

After 25 years of exploration, skills development, and discovery, the community of certified professional coaches is more vibrant than ever!

Coaching itself presents several paradoxes that are crucial to its success.

  • Still young yet mature
  • Both humble and powerful
  • Anchored yet flexible

Together, let’s celebrate what sets us apart and what makes coaching a must for personal and collective development.

25 years – that represents a quarter of a century, prime years of adult life, and the silver wedding anniversary. “Silver is a precious metal that is widely valued, particularly in jewelry and tableware. The light-gray metal is known for its brilliance. It symbolizes purity and transparency. The relationship is thus seen as pure, sincere, and lasting.” (excerpted from a French magazine)

Are we, as certified coaches, precious and valued? Are the relations we build not based on “purity”, sincerity, and transparency?

After 25 years of diligent guidance of the practice, several features help set us apart: our code of ethics, our certification process, the clearly identified competencies we continuously seek to develop, and our obligations in terms of supervision. Rolled out over the last few months, ICF Quebec’s latest marketing campaign will certainly give us greater exposure and a chance to shine. Every one of us is an ambassador of this distinctive brand.

Let the theme also guide your inspiration, along with our contribution to our clients’ development – achievementitis, leaderfrenia, retentiobiotics, and managementamin.
