Team Effectiveness: Why, What and How? (Part 1)

DESCRIPTION

Coaching is increasingly used with teams in a variety of contexts and situations. One of these settings pertains to Team Effectiveness – the ability for a team to perform at its best and produce optimal results. But what is team effectiveness and why does it matter? How do you define it and assess it? And what approach can we use to improve the efficacy of a team? These topics will be at the center of a 2-part session. In February, the presentation will focus on laying the foundation around the concept of Team Effectiveness. During this session, we’ll define what Team Effectiveness is, introduce a model to assess it, and propose an approach that team leaders and their coach can use to improve it. In March, the session will focus on the role of the coach working with a team as it thrives to improve its overall efficacy. This 2nd session will be a facilitated group discussion around the subject of Team Coaching. Some of the topics addressed will include: What are the relevant Team Coaching competencies (as introduced by ICF) that need to be leveraged when helping teams become more effective? What are some of the best practices, tips and tricks, to consider in the context of Team Effectiveness Coaching? And what lessons can we learn from each other (Do’s and Don’ts) as we embark on an improvement path with our team clients?
