English Activities Committepar Edward Rudick

The EAC was extremely excited to welcome participants to our new meeting location at Hockey Etcetera on Friday January 11th. This NEW venue for ICF Québec is a unique location, with top-notch corporate facilities (as well as state of the art hockey and gym facilities) and is ultra-professionally run. Another winter plus is free heated indoor parking!!

All those present were pleased to see the professional set-up, big screen TV, excellent acoustics, and a great hot and cold buffet. This totally eliminated any background noise and interruptions from food service.

Although the nearest Metro is not far away, distance-wise, it is not convenient to access the location, so our committee implemented a shuttle service, which worked really well.

In order to plan for the buffet and proper set-up, from now on we ask those who want to join us, to kindly pre-register no later than the Thursday before, by noon. We will not be able to accept late reservations or walk-ins either. This will be in our ads for the event as a reminder!

Kicking off our 2019 Coaching Breakfast Series in our new location was the newest addition to our EAC committee, Julie Gouin.

Julie who holds an M.Ed., CHRP and is working towards completing her ACC is an Executive Coach and Partner in Boostalab. As an entrepreneur and a person passionate about learning and business, Julie has been guiding leaders and managing teams for over twenty years, with an extensive and impressive background, including leading large-scale strategic change initiatives in complex environments and holding positions of Regional HR Manager at The Home Depot and with Bombardier Aerospace. Her CV is too extensive to include here so we invite you to join us at future Coaching Breakfasts to meet her and the rest of the EAC team (John Cacchione, Orest Lysymanko and myself) and your fellow coaches.

Julie’s topic was a timely one, as everyone is talking about ‘’disruption and disruptors’’:

"Embracing Disequilibrium’"

Julie presented an excellent case for the role of destabilization in growth and development in individuals and how we as coaches might use this concept in our coaching practices. She also shared several tools with us that we may use.

Next month on FEBRUARY 8th (not Feb. 15th) our speaker will be Michael Cullen who will enlighten us and unravel the mysteries of Coaching Supervision.

Recently, ICF formally acknowledged the role and benefits of Coaching Supervision. There is tremendous interest in clarifying and understanding where ICF stands on this subject. What is Coaching Supervision?  How does it work?  Why should you consider it? Michael promises to reveal all during this interactive session, which will include a live demonstration.

Coaches Dinner Exchange will be back shortly with our speaker, James Beatty Hunter leading us in a discussion on Values.

BE SURE TO REGULARLY CHECK THE ACTIVITIES SECTION ON THE ICF QUÉBEC WEBSITE FOR ALL UPCOMING EVENTS!
