Coaching Football  - Developing Leadership Skills – Are there lessons to be learned from Sports?

Coaches are often faced with similar challenges in different for-profit or non-profit organisations. Leadership competencies and behaviours are all dictated by an individual’s style, yet are influenced by the vision, mission and objectives of their organisations. During his presentation and shared discussion, John Cacchione will show that coaching a sport, with its different array of players and leaders, can often require a skill set very similar to what is needed in organisational coaching. .John will share with us the similarities between athletic coaching and professional and leadership coaching

John Cacchione, PCC, CHRP

John Cacchione is a human resources professional with experience in multi-national organisations such as Pepsi Cola, Hanes Brands, Weston Bakeries, Domtar and Bombardier Aerospace.

His passion and hobby, however, relate to working with young athletes from 15 to 23 years old as an elite level football coach. He has had the opportunity of coaching at different levels including Quebec Midget “AAA”, CEGEP “AAA” and “AA” and Junior.
